One thing I’ve noticed in recent discussions with personal trainers and boot camp instructors, is that folks have some specific income goals for their business … which is AWESOME … but they aren’t 100% clear on what it’s going to take to get there.
As an example, you want to make $100,000 per year as a trainer. I don’t know what your exact goal is, but this seems to be a common target … it provides for a comfortable lifestyle in most areas of the world … and it is challenging, but do-able.
So having a specific goal is GREAT … but the next step is, we have to know exactly what to do to get there. The best way to do this is to work backwards.

Check this out:
— $100,000 a year of total revenue / 12 = $8,333 per month
— If you break that down further, it’s a little over $2000 a week
— Working five days a week, you’ll need to make about $400 a day
— If you’re charging $60 a session, that comes out to somewhere around seven sessions a day, 35 sessions a week
— Each client trains on average twice a week
— Comes down to 17-18 clients.
VERY do-able when you look at it this way, right?
If you’re doing group training, you can do that even quicker and work even less hours.
And if your goal is to make more, you just have to tweak the numbers.
The bottom line : know what your ideal lifestyle looks like, and work backwards towards achieving it.
